Jungleman12 Strengthens Lead in Durrrr Challenge

Dan 'jungleman12’ Cates further increased his already sizable lead this week in the Durrrr Challenge with Tom Dwan. In the most recent session, Dwan dropped another $270k in 780 hands across 4 tables of 200/400 to Cates on Friday.

After 18 total sessions and 18,235 hands, durrrr is now behind over $1.2 million to jungleman12 in the challenge. On the other end of the spectrum, jungleman12 is now up almost $2 million on the year. The challenge has been progressing very slowly since it began. Dwan has recently accepted responsibility and apologized for the slow pace, while indicating a desire to increase the pace of the challenge.

Separately, Dwan has started off 2011 poorly online independently of his challenges as well. He is currently stuck over $1.5 million in 2011. Rumors indicate he has done very well in his live high stakes Macau cash games, but there is no public record of his results available.

Dwan will owe Cates $1.5 million on top of his actual hand losses if he's behind after 50k hands. Can Dwan recover from the $1.2 million hole after 18k hands of the 50k, or should he negotiate a buy-out and concentrate his time on more profitable or winnable scenarios?
