Chosen to lead the clan who beat MYM in the SMM DotA 2009, Vincent "BinG" Heng Wei Sheng is willing to start things easy. Alongside team captain Teoh 'Mil|er' Boon Chuan, BinG has announced the team shall go back to their original name, thus representing their main sponsor, FTZ.
Spotgamers, eSports website interviewed the new Extreme Sphinx manager. GosuGamers gives you the full interview:
Hi BinG, it's kinda awkward for me to interview my own editor, but congratulations for being Extreme Sphinx manager. Actually, what are the things that led to your appointment as Extreme Sphinx manager?
Chen "Chenizace" Chinyi who is the ex- team manager of FTZ is my good friend in e-sport and real life. He has done a good job managing Team FTZ before he left. I would like to thank him a lot. Back to the question, Ftz is a well-known team and strong in Malaysia. They just won the Malaysia Online Dota Tournament which is a Paradize CyberCafe Dota Tournament organized by the Malaysia Garena Staff Team. They are strong and I will bring them to another level.
I was told that Extreme Sphinx would revert to the previous clantag, FTZ. What are the reasons that led to this U-turn?
Currently, FTZ is the main sponsor and we're still finding those who are willing to sponsor FTZ. After the discussion between myself and the Team Leader ( Miller), we have decided to use the previous tag which is FTZ Asia Gaming. The tag sounds rock and roll!
How did the players respond to your appointment as their manager? And how about ChenizacE's response?
At this moment, I am being accepted and welcomed into the team. Anyway, I will show all my best and prove they are right by choosing me as their manager. Chenizace showed no surprise when I told him I was going to replace him as Team Ftz's Manager. We are best friends anyway, we met at SGNDT 2009 and some small tournaments. Chen is a good manager.
What is your next plan for your clan, given that this clan is the one who knocked out MYM from SGNDT 2009?
For this, I can only explain some stuff. We are trying our best to win all the online dota tournaments and hope to get a sponsorship as soon as posible. Our slogan is "Start from the Beginning". It means everything is back to zero, imagine that you're a beginner and forget that you knocked out any big teams. Start from the beginning and win the tournament.
Any replacement planned for mikebz, who recently announced his retirement from the DotA scene?
I still can't announce it yet. The only thing I can say, try to guess it yourself. I will announce the latest roster and replacement when the team is ready.
Does this appointment affect your position in Spotgamers, given that you're also an editor there and team manager for FTZ at the same time?
101% won't. I love the editorial job and I love to manage things as well. I am quite lucky and proud I can stick to these two jobs together. I love FTZ and I love Spotgamers.
