Two-time IEST champ crash out in IEST group stage

The back-to-back champion Jae Ho "Moon" Jang crashed out in the group stage in the IEST World Finals earlier today.

It was in the superstar group housing not only the Night Elf dominant, but also WarCraft 3 posterboys Xiaofeng "Sky" Li and Manuel "Grubby" Schenkhuizen, that Moon was defeated 0-2 by both parties.

Sky could advance to the playoffs as the first seed when he edged out a win (2-1) over Grubby. The Dutchman took the second seed and was locked to on-song rival June "Lyn" Park in the playoffs.

Hyeong Ju "Check" Lee and Chenglong "Sai" Zhou advanced from the all-Night Elf group A on the expense of Swedish retired Kim "SaSe" Hammar.

Group C saw Lyn and Weiliang "Fly100%" Lu advance to the playoffs with the Korean Orc coming out on top. Frenchman Yoan "ToD" Merlo had no success in the group, losing 0-2 in both matches.

Dmitriy "Happy" Kostin defeated home-field player Hao "suhO" Su and Sung Sik "ReMinD" Kim in to grab the first seed in group D. Chinese veteran suhO could not conserve his performance from the Chinese finals and will have to see his Chinese team mates battle on in the playoffs sitting aside.
