[subject_wcg]This Friday, the Euro Cyber Games started in Paris,
France. Unfortunately there were lots of problems with the computers and the event got delayed. Therefore, the group system that had been previously organised was replaced with a single elimination - best out of one - tournament to be played instead. This, according to the organizers, to do the best of the remaning time. Sam Hassanine, one of the chief managers, stated:
"I'm sorry, I'm a gamer aswell, I understand your gamers opinions, but i can't do nothing against that. Your gamers have already won their trip to Korea. So it doesn't matter to know who is the real european champion. Today, it's just an exhibition tournament. Just launch, as soon as you can, your tournament for Starcraft with a simple bracket, best of one, we haven't got enough time and enough PC's for your group system with Best of Three now. I'm sorry!"However, the tournament was still played and here you have the results.

A game for third place between Zelias and SaFT was never played since this was only an exhibition and didn't have any affect in WCG 2003. If you wish to know more about Euro Cyber Games, read my » previous newspost about ECG. Congratulations to the winner ElkY.
