Might be quite challenging for Asian countries like Vietnam and China to get visas to US "just" to play games.

No one can help anyone get visas, it doesn't work that way.

if they are invited of course Valve will be able to help them get visas..
valve certainly will not make the biggest e-sport event, give tons of money in prizes and then miss like 4 tier1 teams because they dont have visas

Visas are needed even for some EU countries. It is quite easy to get one tho but still needed. I dont know if teams from Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, China will have an easy time to get visas.

Anyway, in order to make sure everyone will participate you need to think about a long term plan. Stable teams, apply for visas months before the event, appeal if some visas are denied, prepare for every unexpected event.

First off, is the event recognized as a big one by the government? If it is, then, maybe, they could do something to make getting visas easier.

Well, I dont believe that more than 4 teams of SEA/CHINA will be invited! They are not participating in any big event, and dota2 is not that popular in this area. Maybe MYM, EHOME, WE and ORANGE.

For me the invited teams will be:

AL, FIRE, NAVI, DD
NEXT, DIGNITAS, CLG, GOSU
MOUZ, M5, DTS, MTW
MYM, EHOME, WE and ORANGE.

Assuming that it will have 16 teams.
Trust me.

I never quite understood all this fuss about visas and crap. Must be because I have European, German and American citizenship. Oh, snap!

I think its pretty early thinking about it.
Still a long time for TI2.
Without China Valve is going to miss a huge lot of viewers I say.
You'll miss me when I'm gone.

You should probably talk to mouz about visa before US Embassy. Embassies deal with foreign affairs, but they won't know what to categorize TI2.

Is probably going to be the same Visa for other physical sports?
Or is there separate Visa given by the USA for e-sports thingy?

Edit:
Or at least tourist visas?

Whether the Chinese deserved it or not is a different question.
But if there are no Chinese teams in this year's International, it would seriously hurt their business in China.
