Twitch has announced its first ever TwitchCon taking place in San Francisco, California on September 25-26. This event is dedicated to the broadcasters and the fans across the world to come together and celebrate everything Twitch. The event will have contests, allow you to meet your favorite broadcaster, and much much more.
From what is provided from the event is seems to be a mixture of YouTube's Vidcon and Penney Arcade eXpo. This might lead into broadcasters holding confrences about where the future of casting is going along with playing different games with other with fans. The possiblities are endless.
“Twitch broadcasters have the most passionate fans, so we want to create an amazing experience where they can come together in person,” said Emmett Shear, CEO, Twitch. “TwitchCon will be an opportunity for the entire community – broadcasters, game developers, viewers, and us – to play and learn together”
ReedPOP, a group dedicated to organizing events for celebrating pop culture, will be a co-producer of the event with past experience in events such as Comic Con.
The event is still in the works as scheduling and contests are still on their way. Tickets will be announced in the coming weeks.
