Group A
17. UnitedStates eMg.DarkCell
8. Mexico sixjaxTerran
12. Serbia Empire.Beastyqt
16. Sweden Epsilon.Mover
May 28 19:00 CET
DarkCell vs. Mover
May 29 19:00 CET
sixjaxTerran vs. Beastyqt
The departure of HuK from Group A must have drawn a sigh of relief from the Terrans in the group. The Canadian Protoss who recently re-qualified for Code S in the GSL would have proved to be quite a dominating opponent since his best match up is considered to be PvT. In his place will be DarkCell, the only other Zerg in the tournament other than Empire.Nerchio.

This group is the total opposite for DarkCell than what it would have been for HuK. While HuK might have had a much easier time against the three Terrans, DarkCell will most likely find it a lot harder. In the group he will be facing sixjaxTerran, Empire.Beastyqt, and Epsilon.Mover. Against Terran and Beastyqyt, DarkCell will most likely have a much harder time. It may however be a much closer match between DarkCell and mover as they have history in the GosuCup. It was DarkCell who knocked mover out of the first GosuCup qualifier that mover had registered for. In the same qualifier, DarkCell would actually be knocked out by Terran as well.

sixjaxTerran and Empire.Beastyqt are most likely to advance from this group. Terran's TvT is considered to be one of the best in the world and his record is proof of that. Beastyqt is also one of the more accomplished players out of this group and should be able to make it out with very little problems.

Group B
2. France Mill.Adelscott
7. Poland Empire.Nerchio
11. Sweden dignitasMerz
15. United States Trimaster
May 28 20:00 CET
Adelscott vs.Trimaster
May 29 20:00 CET
Nerchio vs. Merz
Group B is the most diverese Races among all the groups, but holds the most European pros. Mill.Adelscott, Empire.Nerchio, and dignitasMerz fill Group B along with the lone American player TriMaster. This group will be one of the hardest groups to get out of. Nerchio seems to be the favourite to make it out of this group with his recent success and his current ranking in the Gosu Rankings. The next favourite would be the runner-up from last year's GosuCup, Mill.Adelscott. He is both an active and successful player, having won his most recent championship at the 2011 Gamers Assembly Main Event last month.

Group C
3. Germany aTn.Socke
6. Sweden inFRunA
10. United States coLCrunCher
14. United States VTSpades
May 28 21:00 CET
Socke vs. Spades
May 29 21:00 CET
RunA vs. CrunCher
Group C offers a more even European and North American representation, but it is filled with three Protoss and a single Terran player. The spot for second place out of this group could be a close match as PvP can always be quite a 'toss' up. Spades should have an advantage in this group. This could be the closest group of the entire stage and should produce some very close matches.

The highest seed in Group C is Socke. The month of May has been fairly productive for Socke. He has been active in many leagues and tournaments, but this may be the first time that he'll have to face so many Protoss opponents in a group stage. His results have been promising however and he stands to have a fairly good chance of being one of the top two to make it out of this group.

Group D
4. United States GGLastShadow
5. Netherlands Grubby
9. United States coLrsvp
13. Ukraine Empire.Kas
May 29 18:00 CET
LastShadow vs. Kas
May 29 22:00 CET
Grubby vs. coLrsvp
Group D is another group with even representation from Europe and North America. The most famous of the group is probably Grubby who has most recently hit a slight slump and has been doing fairly poorly in the NASL. Empire.Kas on the other hand is ranked #1 in the Gosu Rankings and could stand a good chance of getting out of this group. The last two in this group are the Americans coL.rsvp and GosuGamer's own GGLastShadow. GGLastShadow will be looking to repeat his previous success in the GosuCup as the 4th seed in the tournament.
