FAQ

General

Q: Who are the admins?
A: A list of all crew members is available here.

Q: Contacting admins/Which admins to contact.
A: The most efficient way to contact the correct admin is to use our support section. This will ensure you get the quickest response possible as is generally much better than PMing a single admin.

Q: What do I do if I have a complaint?
A:
  • Complaints about Crew: First you contact the admin that you have a complaint against, if you can't solve it with him/her, contact his/her team leader. If that does not work, contact the head admin (Raistlin).
  • Complaints about the site: Contact the engineering team.
Use the suggestion and ideas forum or our support section.

Q: How do I apply to join the crew?
    A: Send application.
Follow this link and fill in the forms. Then wait for a team leader to contact you. This may take some time due to internal discussions. Please show patience.

Q: What are the rules at GosuGamers?
    A: The Rules.

    GosuBet and rankings

Q: How can I/my team get into the Database?
A: Use our support section and include your request in the message. Dont forget to include all the details: tag, name, players and race. You can also suggest a GosuBet where you play against well known opponent. If we decide that this match is worth accepting it, your team will be added by us automatically.

    Q: How can I submit a bet?
A: Go here (SC), here (WC3), or here (DotA) and follow the instructions. Second way: click on Gosubets in the left menu, then on “Suggest a bet”.

Q: Where can I find more info about player/teams?
A: Use our StarCraft Database, Warcraft Database and DotA Database. Also, when being in GosuBet window you can just click on the player/team’s picture and you will be redirected to their profile.

Q: Is there a list of events?
A:Yes, it can be found here for StarCraft, here for WarCraft and here for DotA.

Q: How can I update my profile in the Database?
A: Use our support section and include your request in the message.

Q: When will my individual games be added?
A: As soon as possible. Don’t worry if that lasts few days. However, if you think that the waiting time is too long, you can always use our support section to contact us and share your opinion about it.

Q: How does the recount work?
A: Every match is recorded in the database together with its set time. But we often change results from the past (for example one of us closed the bet with wrong winner etc) so we have our recount script. It is a good tool, as it counts again every single game, since the first GosuBet ever added till the latest matches. It counts points for every match again.

Example? I want to change something and add two games from the past between two players. It will be one win for first player one and one win for second player. So I set winners and run recount script. Player who won the first game, wins some points but also loses more for the loss than he would have lost without winning the previous game. Both numbers are calculated accordingly to the current ranking - so his recent win also counts to this and he should lose more points for losing to a guy with lower ranking.

Q: How are the ranking points counted?
A: The formula is based on a regular ELO ranking system, with an event modifier, where the amount of points won or lost is multiplied with the event value, meaning if you win 30 and the event has 1.5, you win 45.
As in any ELO system, you win more if you win against a higher ranked opponent; in fact, the higher your opponent's rank is, the more points you win, and vice versa. For a more detailed description of the ELO ranking system, check ELO at wikipedia.

Q: How can I watch Korean games?
A: Go here and check if the event you want to watch is listed there.
