its a good step; anything to help cover costs for organizers/sponsors.

Also in the future you may have to pay to watch.

Have a look at the [successful] starcraft2 model with MLG/GSL for example.

I so agree with this but it depends for which tournaments we would have to pay. Never in my life I would pay to watch matches in TPL, The Defense 2 etc but The International or DreamHack? Definitely.

May I ask why wouldn't you?

I definitely see myself buying some tickets, as long the price stays in this range.

With the level of professionalism from most of the teams in online competitions, it doesn't tempt me to buy tickets to watch a game that will be delayed/postponed most of the time. I could buy a ticket for online tournaments only if there are more advantages than watching in live.

#4 I agree with you but maybe now things will change. If people spend money on these tours, they would like games to be played. So organizers must do something about this postpone-delay matter.

I am a tournament admin in It's Gosu and if Valve is willing to add such thing for our tournament(s) then I can guarantee you that the rules will be stricter. I wouldn't tolerate teams to be late or postpone 150 times while some of the viewers paid.
