monks arent better tanks than barbs. they can both be tanks depending on what kind of weapons the monk is using. im playing with a tank barb and im tank monk and hes doing just fine. we're in inferno act 3.
Maybe you are using wrong skills for your playstyle?

Monks got like, heal on every skill they use... or energy or what it is called... but baba got many life gain skills. like revenge, furious charge etc.. If you got much hp you gain much hp when you use the skills.. I think you get 9% of your max hp each enemy u hit with furious charge last rune.. its kinda op..

my perception is that Barb by far is the most gear-dependent class when it comes to making progress in inferno(maybe along side with monk i can't tell) any1 wanna confirm this?
i also feel that almost every skill build is viable up until inferno (in solo at least) which is something i say in order to warn the guys who feel like they have found a really fun and solid build without the use of vital skills such as war cry, revenge and charge/leap.

I found the barbarian the most fun, he is so agressive.
I dont care about inferno, i know he needs to go mega mega tank. Iam talking pre-inferno.
Maybe the pvp patch will tune the classes around, maybe not. He is cool tho but i must say starting thebarbarian, he seemed to be a boring class at first till around lvl 20.
Just my two cents, bye

#12 I agree
I've tried to lvl new chars 4 times now ....cant get past lvl 14 lol...
I dont think barb is that hard in inferno.... one of my best mates plays a barb and he's doing just fine in act 1 inferno. he aint geared for act 2 solo inferno yet tho so... until u get to gear its farming u have to stick to...im still farming gear for act 2 on my monk to be able to go through it with too much difficulties...i still find some rare packs terrible while some are piss-easy

#14 there is no such thing as "real" inferno... without sufficient gear u wont manage in act 1 either..so... calling it real inferno, then we could say the same about act 3 and 4 i guess...it would be stupid to call it that. If you got the gear you wont have issues...if u got problems, your gear and ur spell-setup is not good enough.

You can still say that about the other difficulties as well. You cant go into act 1 inferno on a monk for example with same gear and spec as u did in hell :S so i find it stupid saying "real inferno" since all of it is "real" inferno. You need to adapt your playstyle to the difficulty of the act.
