Has anyone seen it yet? I just watched it today and... OH MY GOD!!! it was bloody brilliant!!! I miss old ridley scott movies

If you watch the extended trailer the entire plot is revealed if you peace it together, there was something on r/movie about it. Looks real good though!

^ I haven't watched the trailer due to the above mentioned reasons, an article warned me not to watch it if I don't want it to spoil everything. I have high hopes for the movie, but I can only watch it next thursday tho.

I didnt watch the trailer... I rarely watch trailers..mainly cuz of the reason stated above They tend to ruin the movie for me... I loved the movie... had high hopes for it and tbh it blew my hopes out of the window!

Didn't care to watch the movie, was a huge fan of the alien-series, but I fear that watching a newer version, with better effects, but worse story/directing/acting will ruin everything for me.
Due to special effects i will no longer be able to go back, and due to worse storyline etc i will not enjoy this 1 :\
And the trailer didn't really entice me, theres just a huge ship exploding, it tells me the movie propebly focuses more on "cool explosions!" rather then focusing on telling me a daring and enticing story.
Feel free to confirm/deny, is the story good? or is it over simplified as to cater to the greater audience (aka the 14 year olds)

Well I had quite high expectations for it tbh but it kinda blew them out of my head I loved it. I watched it in 3d tho and tbh am very glad I did since it was recorded with proper 3d cameras. The effects are ofc newer but the story/directing and acting was not bad at all tbh.

I only watched one trailer for it prolly not the latest one i think it was the first one that came out and i didnt really think it was anything amazing either but watching the movie itself kinda changed that opinion very quick. To me it didnt focus on cool explosions... it was a lot about the actual storyline and how the aliens got invented and stuff... I really liked it.

Tbh, to simplify how i felt about it.... it really REALLY made me wanna go back and watch the old alien movies!

audiovisuals fantastic, but honestly not as good as aliens at all.
There are holes in screenplay, some characters act like after lobotomy.
But still i enjoyed it.

Audiovisuals is amazing, and for the first half-three quarters I had a pretty good feeling (only minor tech-annoyances, but you always get those so that can be tolerated)... but then the ending comes. It takes off in so many directions at once, but doesn't fulfil any of them and it just turns into "meh, Hollywood". I really wish they'd dared to not go down that route we have seen so many times before... maybe it can be salvaged with the next one though, because there will obviously be another one...
So I'm a bit torn about this one, it shows so much promise for the first half so I don't want to call it bad!

#13 I agree...the way they ended it it really seems like there's gonna be a "next one" lol... I liked the ending tho <.< I think the whole point was to confuse us a bit at the end tbh... I do like how u find out where the aliens really originated from... and tbh the creators of them were just really weird lol... i also loved the hologram-projections of the story.... where you could see the ppl running through the tunnel, and them by the ship...loved it ^^ '

#10 Reason why it's not as good as "aliens" is because 1. prometheus was not much about scaring ppl...it was just a prequel to how things came to be... so i didnt expect to be scared shitless or summin and 2. it was done in another era ^^ where ppl had to work their asses off to get good quality of a movie with less technology...now, the technology takes over too much imo...

Finally I managed to watch it (couldn't go earlier because of the TI2 qualifiers ) and basically #13 expressed my thoughts.

I had this "meh, one of a kind" feeling during the whole movie. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad at all, but I expected much more of it. That screaming scientist bitch annoyed the crap out of me, I wish she died somewhere around the end, but unfortunately she didn't.

And yeah, the story kinda shouts for a sequel, it's prerry obvious. Not sure I'm gonna watch it tho...

But honestly any movie that makes more questions than it answers is just a marketing scheeme. I enjoyed the movie it self, but i wasnt satisfied at all with story i was offered.

its a prequel tho..ofc its gonna ask more questions than get answered..the questions are supposed to be answered in the next movies.. <.<

and yes im kinda hopin tbh theyll make a sequel heh

it was supposed to answer all the questions we had in the previous movies. Cool they said Aliens are weapons or for the Preditors they are a hunt practise or natural enemy, but still no effin answer as to where the Alien came from. And now leaving us more questions like why did our ancestors want to whipe us out... whats the relation of predators to all of this considering AVP showed us a compleatelly different story in human evolution...
