http://www.cnbc.com/id/47633993, I'm afraid this will have a big negative effect on e-sports 5 years from now, when e-sports gets big.

Not only did they buy the advertising rights for most big online and offline events in E-sports, they also went ahead and owned advertising rights at own3d.tv no pun intended and twitch.tv.

I think the government should pass a law against CBS advertising in order to protect gamer taxpayers from cyber bullying, obesity and Joseph Kony. Thank you for raising awareness!

The advertising was already there. CBS is just stepping in to provide the ads much like Google does for many websites. I can see how Twitch and Own3d stand to gain from this.

It will also be interesting how CBS plans to handle the events they now signed to cover. It is imaginable they are trying to find a market for it on network TV.

This indeed will be good for the gloom of e-sports but then my major concern is the monopoly they get of it.
But yeah the outcome could be the first dedicated e-sports channel in the west.
