Hy there. How do you control your army ? How many "controls", i mean Ctrl+1,2,3,.... do you make and what do you "put in them" ???

I'm a noob too but I usually use 1 and 2 for units only and then the F keys when I need my hero. 2 is everything and 1 I make depending on what I am doing, for example scouts or low hp unit.

depending on the army composition but:
1 for every "right click" units (say footy, rifle, knight, sb).
2 for caster, this way they won't attack instead of casting auto-spells, and it's easier to tab through.
3 for arty (or air if needed to micro separetely).

Then it's a good idea to have a control for town hall. Thus you can keep producing peon and start T2 while microing elsewhere.

I also use a group for units production, depending on where I am in the game.

Idealy I'd say you should have 3 groups for units, control héros with F1/F2/F3, group your main and production buildings. Then keep your forge(s) on 8-9.
Ideally it is. I personally never got used to more than 5 groups and keep fucking things up when I try...
