Hello guys,

I arrived 2weeks ago in Hong kong,
When i was in my native country I used to play daily some dota...
I havent played dota since 2weeks I feel so lost..
I only got my lap top on Hong Kong and I gonna stay a long time,


That is why I ask you guys, if there are some cyber cofe where I can play dota and meet some other players?

I live in Wanchai,
Please help me I really need some dota

i think there are people playing dota in hk, because sometime i saw people playing dota in cyber cafe in some hong kong drama...sorry for my bad english...i just want to help u

I got a steam account with dota 2, just want to play it on a computer..
In a cyber with other players, maybe meet some other players.

Im looking for a cyber, but cant find one..

Tbh, I don't think there are many public Cyber Cafe's in Hong Kong. I haven't seen a single one whilst I've been there, and I've been going for 11 years. Best thing for you to do is play Dota 2 online, or just ask some of the teenagers around because for all you know, they can be underground.

I haven't seen Hong Kong players around here, but I do know they play. There are cafes around but I don't know how to find one. There are e-sports players coming out of Hong Kong so it might be good to look for some e-sports community of Hong Kong. The locals will probably use Chinese with other locals, although it's not a bad way to learn a language.

Sorry for potentially boosting an old thread.

I was online search for information about DOTA 2 activity in Hong Kong, as I was curious why there would be 3 accessible servers for the region, but none for Oceania (we have to play in S.E. Asia).

This thread was one of the top results but as information posted above were just untrue I decided to reg and leave a reply here.

There are, in fact, numerous cyber cafes in Hong Kong (by that I dare say 500+ in Hong Kong while I stay there in 2008). If you're in the shopping areas of Wan Chai there would be one within five if not three minute's walking distance. There would also be a number of (and more) cyber cafes in Causeway Bay.

Keep in mind that most of them are "upstairs" stores (meaning they don't have a shop front on the ground level), so you may need to ask a local person to find one.

Also if you do come across a couple do compare the price as some are a ripe off.

The actual problem you may face is finding one with a staff member that speaks English. In my personal opinion, you'd have a better chance finding one on Hong Kong Island (which Wan Chai is in) than the rest of Hong Kong (except perhaps in Tsim Sha Tsui, but you're already in Wan Chai so why bother).

You might not need this information anymore but hopefully someone else looking for similar stuff won't read this thread and think "there are no cyber cafes in Hong Kong". It's worthy to note that Hong Kong was one of the countries/regions that started having "cyber cafes" before the rest of the world did.

I was in Hong Kong not long ago. There are very few Cyber Cofe(Cafe) in Hong Kong. I wasn't sure about the dota 2 servers though as i haven't tried them. Trying playing pub in hong kong servers though they'll speak chinese/cantonese etc. There must be a reason there's a server in Hong Kong and not in Australia, Africa(?) etc.

Hello guys, I am back!

After doing some research some locals people helped me.

I am currently trying to build a dota 2 hong kong community in order to gather for playing, having fun, build teams ect.
If you guys are interested to join us for some games, having fun at cyber please let me know.
I am building a facebook page and as soon as possible a facebook group in order to meet up more easily!

I also tried many places now and I have to tell the best place I have been is GForce at 7floor in causeway bay, the computer are quite good and they have dota 2 ( I have been to i-one people dont even know what is steam...).
