I want to reformat my computer Because it sucks. My question is when you reformat the computer. The dota 2 is deleted. Can I save the dota2 on my USB? what happen if i save the steam and dota2 on my USB and after reformatting my computer and I put this on my PC again. Does it still work or not?

actually u can redownload it, u dont have to copy to usb or somth.. and u dont need another beta key.

You just will need to reinstal dota2, that's all.

Ofc you can redownload it if you have a pass to your steam account. All your games are binded to your steam account.

And if you don't want to waste traffic - make a L-backup of your game. Then simply restore your game from backup after you clean up you hdd.

Backup your steamapps folder before formatting your PC.
It is located here [C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps]

After reinstalling your Steam client, just replace your fresh steamapps with the previous one.

because i'm thinking if i redownload it. i waisting again my time, last time when i download the dota2. i get 12hrs time in downloading in this file.

you can backup your dota 2 by right clicking on ur game and press back up game files. Then copy the games to your USB or external hard disk. After you reformatted your PC, press steam > back up and restore games.

the key is activated on your steam acount, so you can just reinstall steam and download it again

Guys, Steam doesn't need registry keys to work and neither do the games.
He can just copy the whole Steam folder and store it somewhere else (e.g. USB). No need to reinstall anything or to use the backup function of Steam itself.

P.S.: I haven't reinstalled my Steam/Counter-Strike 1.6 since I installed it ~8 years ago...

All games that you have on steam, will be available for re-download directly through your steam client. In other words, you will be able to re-install every game without losing anything using your steam account.
