Hey, guys! I'm from Belarus and I writing an article, where gather foreigners opinions about our country. If you don't have hard, please, write some associations and opinions (maybe impressions, if you been in Belarus). Thanks, it's very important to me.
Peace.

Pretty much the only thing I associate with it is that it's the "last western dictatorship". So I automatically assume what a dictatorship usually implies in political and religious persecution, censorship, corruption and that if we tell you stuff like this and you print it, you'll get killed or arrested or something just because...well...you said something which doesn't make the state look good
Naturally, those associations are most likely highly exaggerated but they're my first and pretty much only associations nonetheless.

If what #6 said was true then I support your PM/President.
Well, Belarus isn't really popular in terms of tourism, at least in Asia/PH, so probably there's only a few who have really been there who can give you insights about your country based on their own experience and not Google.

I have been to Metro Manila, Baguio, Davao City, Bacolod, Cebu, Tuguegarao, and many other places in the Philippines, but I think I have never met or known any Filipino associated with Belarus in any manner. In the Philippines, Belarus doesn't seem to be particularly popular. I have never even heard anyone speak of it, except someone who mentored me in geography.
Perhaps it is also worth considering that I barely know anything about Belarus even though I'm very fond of European history, geography, and economics.
This may contribute to how you evaluate the popularity of your country in the Philippines (or in Southeast Asia, if you find it prudent to use the Philippines as its proxy).

i know it's a dictatorship and there is no freedom of speech - i've heard about some anti-Lukashenko journalists 'disappearing'.
the human right are not respected.
I know about the Russia-Belarus Union (i think Kazachstan joined too) - some analog to the EU that Russia tried to create. Russia is pumping a lot of money in Belarus. From the materialistic point of view - life is actually good in Belarus; I've heared that the students there have a lot of opportunities to study abroad on scholarships. There exists a belarusian language, but it's spoken nowhere - people use russian.
The only thing I like about Lukashenko is that, while taking their money, he's not actually Russia's bitch, unlike other former soviet countries.
