Recently i had a game where i was assigned to go top solo vs sylla..
but somehow i couldnt kill him even though i tried to spam my skills i always end up with insufficient mana when sylla's life is little.. and he killed me 2 times because when i used 1st skill , silence then he focus fire me and i died

what could i have done? .. is it normal for sylla to own a puck solo ? or should i have just focused on farming and not try to kill?

get level 6+ and wait for gang support

dude, face against Syllar equal facing 2 heroes, so dont so aggressive unless you have better level and items (and skills ofc )

Right click. Save orb for burst damage and escaping ganks. Make sure you have regen. Your job is not to kill him but to keep him from farming. Even if you have to die, just keep him from farming.

puck can nv be aggressive against a sylla if that sylla is decent . Dun spam orb harrass at low lvl since ur mana pool isnt that great as well as u wont have much regen and that is ur escape mechanism .
Only way is to get support to help u out , preferably those with stun / disable . Or juz wait til u are lvl 6 and get gank off . Else , u will lose ur lane if u play defensive , u will die if u play aggressive and Sylla will get farmed either way .

Focus on farming and taking away farms from Syllabear. It's quite easy since you have orb to kill waves of creeps and to escape.

Proper use of spell & mana in the right time is the solution.

Also need some lvl.

And I forgot, wait for support heroes (preferably 2 supports) to gank him when he reached level 6

Play safe until your reach lvl 6 and call your support to gank thats all

Killing him is not a requirement. Denying and Last hitting is your objective. That's the reason why you have a 5 man team in dota.

#13 could be an option if he has his own crown, but you have to care that illusory orb is also your escape mecanism, so if you are facing vs a syla top and you see enemy ganks or constant pulling, i dont recomend this strategy.

in overall try to keep the equilibrium between your farm and your right clic harass.. you should be safe and then strong with dagger and other mana item for support your team in teamfights. Dont ever tank the bear or the syla, its just silly to do that. be aggresive means you have to worry also in keeping harass without getting damage of the creeps.

For puck you need to lvl 6 for kill Syla 1 vs 1,

because int hero like puck have great damage ulti in lvl 6 and agi hero like syla don't strong enough in lvl 6.

And Puck you must calculate mana very carefully. Just it !
