In my country, WoW > DotA. But I play and enjoy both games. Honestly I prefer DotA.
It seems like WoW is almost dead in EU because I've seen WoW section in GGnet have been inactive for so long. There are no people there.
But in DotA and DotA 2, section have always been active with people.
In your country, how many players are playing WoW and how many players are playing DotA? And which game you prefer?

The games arent similar to be compared but if you mean which is played more here it's DotA i think.

well it's because WoW already has its own community. the smaller community based on countries and guilds also has their own forum. no wonder that here almost noone active in WoW section.

WoW = RPG and DoTA = RTS. you can't compare them directly. but if we talk about how many players playing average per day, i think DoTA has larger players pool due to fact that DoTA can be played in Local+Online. Also DoTA doesn't need too much graphic power like WoW, which allowed player with low-end computer to play DoTA. Maybe some people going to argue "nowadays graphic card can play both", well you can try 25man raid in WoW with full effect than talk about graphic card power.
