At top

GO to games and then click manage gifts and guest passes

On steam, community->view inventory->dota2->send gift

if my friend won a betakey from playdota...izzit means that he can send me invites and then i will be able to play dota 2?

^ Yes, but in this case, he's not supposed to send it on Steam, he can just simply give you the serial number, which you can activate on your own Steam.

#5 what if the friend does not have Dota2 also. He can use his key and then invite #4

the key playdota gives comes with 2 invites, 1 person needs to use the key for his own dota 2 copy if he wants to send the other invites. so it doesnt really matter which one of u uses the key. u can activate the key and send ur friend the invite or vice versa

#10 untradable (or 30 days disabled) gifts can be send via gift function in steam, regardless.

another question, ive got my game quite some time now, but a freind wants to purchase a key in the dota2 store, and it appears to be bugged, when you go to dota2.com -> store -> purchase dota2 invite -> checkout the store just crashes for both of us, does anyone know if the store is not running yet or another way to purchase the key in steam ?

Steam is being owned by their sale. Wait for off peak hours (i.e. never) or the 23rd.
