Early gem. Good idea?

Do they think buying gem is risky? why is that? I rarely in replay this strategy fails, so what to afraid for? There is not enough proof to justify that opting this strategy will be suicidal to the team progress. 700 gold is quite ok for the everlasting benefit it provides.

And of course gem drops = wasted money

When you are having to keep up warding against a master like OK, then yes, sometimes you gotta spend the extra cash I guess... But really it's a sign of WEAKNESS MUAHAHAHAHA

DotA needs more evolution and the best teams are poor at executing and adopting to the real winning strategy.
Like u can make 5 crow and even more and u can use them for warding as well as buying and wearing vladimir and gem.
Best warder is crow u know. Plus they are very helpful cos they are invoulnerable...
Yet we only see one crow at each team...
There are so many places where a competitive DotA can improve and using the crow in fights and even making dagon on it is a good start.
I know using more than one crow and a gem is way more productive then this support warding scenario....

then they start crushing the wards..
for example the best way to counter the old weaver 1st skill and the best hero to have carrying it is Beastmaster he can kill wards on low grounds or high.
