Write the post today or write it tomorrow? Well, for our non-Swedish visitors: I know you have a lot to say about Swedish traditions; crazy and hard to understand. However, I'm not sure if you know that we celebrate Christmas Day the 24th of December.
However, before we go on to the gifts, I wanted to share a moment of enjoyment that has to do with Starcraft, but taken from real life:
A couple of days ago, I was with my relatives and played Civilization: The board game (great game btw). We were 3 peoplearound the table, everyone in about my age. I was arguing with one of them; my cousin wanted my cities in North America and I wanted money in exchange. We agreed that I could have money if I stopped attacking him and didn't build more cities.
In this agreement, I used the word "expand" while referring to "build more cities", and one of the guys shines up and said "Dude, are you playing Starcraft or Warcraft?". I replied: "A little", just to see the reaction. The guy gets very enthusiastic and starts telling me about his friend who, according to himself, is a member of the Swedish national team in Starcraft. I ask for the persons name while this started to amuse me more and more.
Anyway, after some discussion, it's clear to me that his friend is nothing but a nonentity who just made up a story to impress them. They speak of who he has beaten (I didn't recognize a single player they were talking about), and this just confirms more what I've suspected. And when they started talking about his participation in the World Championships, I couldn't keep myself from laughing. I guess you all know there have been no official World Championship in Starcraft and this person was obviously not a member of our team.
Finally, I had to confess to them that I was the manager (wasn't easy - had to show the page for like 10 mins) and that their friend probably was lying to them. I started to wonder if they even had a friend playing Starcraft or if it was just bullshit all of it, but it was indeed fun to be able to back things up. One thing is clear though, they chose the wrong person to make up things about Starcraft to, that's for sure
