The new cards just keep on coming.
In the past, the 4-mana slot has been the most important for Warrior, occupied by the powerful [card]death's bite[/card]. Contemporary builds, having lost the strong weapon, instead turned to minions to fill the curve.
Mean Streets of Gadgetzan is here to fix that, possibly. [card]thorium knuckles[/card] is a new Warrior weapon for 4-mana with 2/3 stats that follows the tribe mechanic of the Grimy Goons: It buffs minions in hand. After each hero attack, the Knuckles give +1/+1 to a random minion, translating into three total buffs by the time the endurance is exhausted.
Although the effect sounds powerful, this weapon’s biggest drawback is its low attack. At 2/3, Thorium Knuckles will rarely kill a midrange minion and will mostly be used to soften up minions to enable trades or enable [card]execute[/card]. The buff effect is what’s supposed to make up for the low stat-line of the Knuckles, but the power level will mostly depend on how successful Goons’ mechanic actually is in competitive play.
