D2Cl#3: Bo5 finals between Empire and Fnatic scheduled tonight

The finals of Dota 2 Champions League #3 is scheduled tonight at 18:00 CET, with Fnatic and Empire squaring off on a best-of-five series. The winner of this two-month long tournament will walk away with at least $33,000.

Fnatic and Empire have performed well throughout the year, but both teams have lacked major championships. That will end tonight for one team, as they will be competing on the best-of-five finals of the Dota 2 Champions League #3, with the winner walking away with the title and being at least $33,000 richer.

Empire defeated Power Rangers 3-0 to reach this stage. They were seeded straight into the semifinals after they topped the group, and they showed every bit of their dominant form on this competition by dominating the team from Belarus.

Fnatic's road to the finals was longer. They were seeded straight into the top six, but how they performed from thereon surprised many. After defeating RoX.KiS 2-0, they proceeded to completely shut down the team with the best record during the group stage, Alliance.

Both of the teams came from this tournament's Group A, wherein they placed first and second respectively. They split their matches during that stage, with each team winning one game.

The best-of-five finals series is scheduled to start at 18:00 CET tonight. The winner will get 50% of the total prize pool, which is made up of a $50,000 base and 25% of all DotaTV sales. More than $17,000 has been added into the pool from the ticket sales at the time of publication.
