The start of the Challenger League group stage for WCS America marked the ascend of Chinese Protoss MacSed and Quantic's Terran TheSTC, who left Goswser and Heart down in the dirt.

?MacSed is the first Chinese representative to make his way up to the premier league after his countrymen failed to beat the preliminaries for the first season and faced defeat in the bracket stage as well.
MacSed's scored success in what could be considered a rather difficult group. Paired with Quantic's TheSTC, Axiom's Heart and Millenium's Goswser, MacSed's chances seemed low, especially considering his crushing 0-2 loss to Illusion in round one of the bracket stage. The rebound was strong for the Chinese Protoss, however, and pocketing 2-1 victories over TheSTC and Goswser made him the group leader the first to advance to Premier League last night.
Second in the group came TheSTC who had to play all three other players to recover his Code S spot. The Quantic Terran was eliminated from S1 Premier after going 1-2 in the Ro16 after a close fight with Moonglade but will get a second try for a playoffs spot this time around.
This put Mill Zerg Goswser as third in the group, leaving him down in Challenger League, and Heart as fourth, meaning the Axiom Terran is eliminated altogether and will have to go through the preliminary rounds to return to challenger and aim for a Premier spot in Season 3 from there.
At 00:00 CET tonight, AM Challenger returns with the only all-American group of the tournament. Opening matches are Major vs Bails and Vibe vs Killer.
