The Major League announces its full line up

After Team High Ground claimed the wild card spot at the qualifiers, The Major League announced its full eight team line up.

From September 10th 2017 the qualifiers for The Major League begun at the Academy of Esports, Iskandar Puteri. 78 teams entered the fray, all challenging for the single wild card spot available and a RM 10,000 prize pool. On October 15th the winner was crowned and Team High Ground, hailing from Malaysia, secured their spot amongst 7 international pro teams who will compete at The Major League Dota 2 event, championed by Celcom.

The Major League

The Major League tournament begins on October 20th and runs until the 22nd, with the 8 teams battling each other at Edu City Sports Arena, Iskandar Puteri, Malaysia. While a double elimination tournament format, the teams will be giving their all to take home the winnings. And that prize pool is set at an incredible RM 300,000, meaning the event shall definitely be spectacular - and with the surrounding area of Malaysia as the backdrop, you can expect exactly that. You can find out information on tickets pricing and purchase here.

The organisers

The tournament is being organised by the Livescape Group alongside Beatnation. The Livescape Group have their beginnings set in Malaysia and are one of the largest lifestyle and corporate event management companies, having offices in both Singapore and Jakarta. Having hosted some of Malaysia’s biggest events in their 6 years, the Livescape Group is sure to help organize a magnificent Dota 2 event.
Beatnation are a creative organisation, working with and expanding the subculture and artistic scene of Malaysia – with many different projects under their belt. The company is looking to expand through the Dota 2 world and what better way than with an event including international teams.
