DreamLeague Season 8: Infamous secure their first Major tickets

Infamous are the first team to qualify for the eighth season of DreamLeague, which with the introduction of the Pro Circuit, is, in fact, a Major with a one million Dollars prize pool and 1500 Circuit points.

Infamous are the first South American organization to have ever qualified at The International, and regardless of their bottom four finish in the main event, their attendance at TI7 is still the biggest achievement of the South American region. The post TI7 shuffle affected Infamous as well, who lost no less than four players (Matthew and Kingteka playing now for DC SA) and had to rebuild once again almost from scratch. The new line-up entered in all the minors and majors qualifiers so far but finished 3rd/4th in all of them. Last night, however, their luck changed and Infamous managed to beat Digital Chaos SA 2-1 in the DreamLeague South America grand qualifiers finals.

Game one was an over 70 minutes battle where DC had the entire control. Up to the 55 minute mark, they still had a nearly 8k gold advantage but their hero lineup was not able to push Infamous’ high ground. Three Roshan kills in a row secured by Infamous, with the Aegis always placed on  Mariano 'Papita' Caneda’s Death Prophet allowed Infamous to recover and take objectives much easier, which brought them in the end the game one victory. Game two, however, was a true stomp from DC SA who pushed the series in a decisive game three in just 20 minutes. In game three Infamous made sure DC SA will not get to play Necrophos again, a hero which seems to be first pick material for them and reverted to somewhat a pushing strategy which revolved more around the two supports, Jakiro and Winter Wyvern, two heroes with extremely effective wave clear and good team fight control. The game was decided in 35 minutes with a crushing performance coming out from Pepita, this time on a mid lane Puck.

With this victory, Infamous booked their tickets to the DreamHack Winter 2017 - DreamLeague Season 8 Major from Jönköping, Sweden. They are the first team to qualify for the event, the rest of the region qualifiers still being in full swing. The LAN playoffs will be held December 1-4 with $1,000,000 prize pool on the line and 1500 circuit points distributed as follows:

DreamLeague Season 8 Major prize pool and Dota Circuit Points (DCP) distribution:

1st place: $500,000 +  750 DCP
2nd place: $200,000 + 450 DCP
3rd place: $100,000 + 225 DCP
4th place: $70,000 + 75 DCP
5th-6th place: $45,000
7th-8th place: $20,000
