WCA 2017 Middle East/North African Qualifiers feature Miracle-, GH, 7ckngMad

For the first time WCA is extending their reach into the Middle East and North African region, giving local teams a chance to compete in the WCA 2017 LAN finals in China.

Organized by Esports Middle East, and in partnership with Hub Zero and MSI Middle East, the WCA 2017 Middle East qualifiers is offering a 320,000 Dirhams (~ $87,122) prize pool and one slot in the main event scheduled for December with a $700,000 prize.

The event is broken down into national qualifier dates and then regional qualifier. Qualifiers for UAE have already been completed.

The winning teams from UAE was

  • 2k players (Qualified team 1st place)
  • Loveless (Qualified team 2nd place )
     

Teams from Lebanon are still competeing, but include none other than Team Lebanon featuring Sébastien "7ckngMad" Debs , Maroun "GH" Merhej , Jad "Eixn" Hammoud and Roy "Rajjix" Rajji Rajjix.

All of the other countries will begin to battle it out starting tomorrow and conclude September 23rd.  Notable teams include:

SmasH from Saudi Arabia featuring Mohammed "Attacker" Almheiri.

Orcus from Jordan featuring Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barqawi Mohammad "Hook-" Al-Sheikh, Mohammad "AfrOmoush" Omoush , Turtoi "Arise" Ionut.

 

The main regional event for the Middle East will take place between October 4-7th. All matches will be streamed live HERE. Saeed Sharaf is the CEO and founder of esports Middle East and Ahmed "BenQ" Khaled is the main organizer of WCA for all questions or inquiries.

 

WCA 2017 Middle East/Northern Africa Qualifiers Format:

Online National Qualifiers

  • September 18-23rd for all other countries
  • All matches best-of-one
  • Finals best-of-three
  • 2 teams qualify for Regional Qualifiers

 

Online Middle East/Northern Africa Regional Qualifiers

  • Oct 4-7th
  • 22 teams total
  • Format TBD
  • 1 team qualify for the WCA 2017 LAN in China

 

WCA 2017 Middle East/Northern Africa Regional Qualifier PrizePool:
 

  • First Place: 106,000 Dirhams (~$28,859) + spot at main event in China

  • Second Place: 53,000 Dirhams (~$14,429)

  • Third Place: 26,500 Dirhams (~$7,214)
