Brazil's finest, SG e-sports, has released their entire roster before the start of the new Minor/Major season.
SG e-sports is a Brazilian Dota 2 organization that first made their presence known when they picked up the team Kingao+4 in November 2016. Their first call for attention from the international community was when they took 5 – 8th place in the World Electronic Sports Games 2016.
It was in March 2017, however, that SG e-sports emerged from SA Kiev Major qualifiers making history. For the first time ever, Brazil would have a team participate in a Valve sponsored event. The team's impressive run from group stage and through lower brackets in the region's qualifier granted them the sole slot to represent the South American region at the Kiev Major main event.
Kiev Major was the first time Valve had given South America their own qualifiers to compete in as a way to mature and spark competition in the region. Despite being directly invited by Valve to compete, the Brazilian team was not considered one of the favorites - going toe to toe with the more prominent teams Infamous and Not Today. But an astounding 8:1 record in the group stage quickly changed the impression and turned heads.
The team ultimately took a commendable 5-8th place finish at the Valve Kiev Major event - placing much higher than many expected based on the caliber of teams they were competing against.
Following the event SG e-sports struggled to maintain a dominant presence in the region and failed to qualify for another international event.
Thus far the players have not yet revealed their next steps as the new season will kick off with the StarLadder iLeague Minor qualifiers set to commence this coming weekend, September 2-3rd.
