LGD Gaming are (still) invincible; Knock iG out of TI7

LGD Gaming are still invincible as they eliminate Invictus Gaming from The International 2017 with ease.

The opening series at The International 2017 today was a clash of the Chinese titans. The stage was set for two of the more famed Chinese dynasties in the Dota 2 scene to go toe to toe till the death. Loser would walk away with more than $1 million dollars in compensation while the winner would advance to a top 4 placement and a chance to hold the Aegis of Champions over their heads tomorrow.

LGD Gaming proved they are still in fact, invincible. Despite a drop to the lower brackets at the hands of Virtus.Pro in the first round of Upper Brackets, they cruised through the lower brackets with nothing but clean sweeps across the board.

Game One

LGD gained a slight lead to kick things off, followed up with huge kills and pressure on the towers to add pressure onto iG. The rebuttle from Invictus Gaming didn't take long but wouldn't be enough to sustain as LGD seemed to come out ahead in the team fights with their tanky heroes and better coordination.

A Magnus pick for Ren "eLeVeN" Yangwei was a crucial factor in LGD's success as they just started to beat down iG - their lineup snowballing out of hand much faster than expected. A missed spell by Lin "Xxs" Jing on Earthshaker would prove to be a pivotal point in the team's demise. With things were falling apart quickly, iG called an end to the game in less than 20 minutes to regroup and regain themselves.

Game Two

Looking down the barrel of elimination, iG had no choice but to revamp their strategy and approach swapping roles between Ye "BoBoKa" Zhibiao and Zhang "Q" Yi. LGD, on the other hand, were having none of it and came out of the gate with guns blazing. In the first six minutes, LGD led by 3 kills.

Things just continued to go in favor of LGD Gaming once again. Completely destroying their Chinese brethren, LGD showed no mercy. A second quick paced game ended in only 28 minutes, crushing iG's TI 7 dreams.

LGD Gaming will continue to advance and fight to the death against Team Liquid later tonight in the Lower Bracket Round 5 elimination series.
