TI7 Secret Shop closed temporarily

Only a few days after the 2017 Secret Shop was opened, Valve has decided to temporarily close the store citing high shipping costs as primary reason.

If you’ve ever bought something from Valve’s online store powered by WeLoveFine, you’ve most likely experienced the exorbitant shipping costs for those hotly desired Hero plushies or the extremely well-designed shirts from the host of artists who contribute to the shop every year. Accordingly, this year Valve has taken note of the shipping prices, and no doubt the global growth of the DOTA2 fanbase, and shut down the Secret Shop temporarily whilst the company figures out a better (and cheaper) distribution method for global fans. Notably, fans are unable to browse any part of Valve’s online store, including the sections for CS:GO, TF2 and other games, which spells a better distribution method to the entire store.

Those who have already placed orders in the shop, however, will still receive their orders as expected, or they can opt to get a refund according the DOTA2 blog post. With the International 2017 fast approaching, Valve will no doubt have an answer to the shipping cost woes soon. You can find the full announcement on the DOTA2 blog here.
