ELEAGUE and Turner venture into the Dota 2 world

The prominent CS:GO tournament organizer ELEAGUE will make their Dota 2 debut with a four-episode series titled "Road to The International Dota 2 Championships".

On the 4th of August ELEAGUE’s first Dota 2 video content will be launched on the basic cable television network TBS. The four-episodes are each an hour long journey that will follow professional teams and their players daily routine while preparing for one of the biggest esports events, The International 2017.

According to the official announcement made by ELEAGUE, the initial episodes will be focused on the training regimes some of the teams undergo in preparation for TI 7, while the later episodes will bring us behind the scenes footage from TI 7 with a mix of "experiences, triumphs and failures during the tournament itself".

The Road to The International Dota 2 Championships documentary series will be fully distributed on TBS with the first episode airing on the 4th of August 2017 at 22:00ET/ 04:00 CEST, the full four-episodes being scheduled to be televised as follows:

Episode 1: August 4, 22:00 ET/August 5, 04:00 CEST
Episode 2: August 11, 22:00 ET/August 12, 04:00 CEST
Episode 3: August 18, 23:00 ET/August 18, 05:00 CEST
Episode 4: August 25, 22:00 ET/August 26, 04:00 CEST

One week ahead of the "Road to The International Dota 2 Championships" series premiere, on the July 28, TBS will introduce their viewers to Dota 2 with a show hosted by none other than Richard Lewis. The show will feature Richard Lewis doing a "special" presentation of Valve’s "Free to Play" documentary which was launched in March 2014 and he will also talk about the game evolution and its most important tournament, The International. The show is scheduled to air on TBS Friday, June 28 at 22:00 ET/June 29 at 04:00 CEST.

ELEAGUE:

ELEAGUE is the product of a strong partnership between Turner and IMG and was officially launched as an esports brand that will focus on organizing tournaments as well as creating esports content. ELEAGUE made their debut in CS:GO, where in just one year  they have already organized two Counter-Strike: Global Offensive seasonal league,s streamed every Friday on TBS cable television during prime-time, along with streams on their own twitch.tv and Youtube channels.

Later in 2016 ELEAGUE ventured into Overwatch as well with the first-ever Overwatch Open. As recognition of its industry-wide impact, ELEAGUE was awarded its first-ever CS:GO Major, originating from Atlanta in January 2017. The ELEAGUE Major Grand Final drove ELEAGUE’s Twitch channel to a record peak of more than one million concurrent streams, in addition to a reach of 3.6 million total viewers on TBS throughout the tournament. ELEAGUE received a Sports Emmy nomination for Outstanding Studio Design and Art Direction in March 2017.
