4 teams secure their spot in phase 2 of the South American TI7 regional qualifiers

The four South American teams battling for a spot at The International 7 have been decided.

The International 7 qualifiers have been underway for about one week now and throughout each region there have been teams claiming their spot at the majestic tournament – and in the same regard, many teams have fallen by the way side. The South American region has been no less exciting than the rest, with ten teams entering the round robin group stage and only four emerging on the other side.

Brazil Midas Club Elite
Brazil SG e-sports
Peru Infamous
Peru Mad Kings

Midas Club Elite took the group by storm, losing only a single game as they claimed the top spot. The Brazilian squad had already showed true resilience as they had their original invitation to the qualifiers rescinded and fought through the South American Open Qualifier #1 to claim a spot in the group stage.

SG e-sports took second place in the group stages – another Brazilian team who have been growing in leaps and bounds lately. After their valiant run at the Kiev Major which included the elimination of Team Secret, the team will be looking to make another great showing on the big stage in Seattle.

The 3rd spot in the 2nd phase went to Infamous, one of the more well-known teams from the South America region. The team captain, Benjamin ‘Benjaz’ Lanaos, has been part of the Dota 2 scene in Peru and the SA region for a long time, and will be looking to take his team to The International 7.

The team that took 4th place and rounds up the teams for the 2nd phase in the South America Regional Qualifiers is Mad Kings. MK are also a Peruvian squad and performed more than admirably in the qualifiers to secure their chance for a spot at the grand TI 7.

With only a single spot up for grabs for the South American region, these 4 teams will be fighting tooth and nail in an attempt to secure it and place their team and region on the map at The International 7. The playoffs begin later today and we look forward to seeing which team claims the qualifying spot.
