The first round of the TI7 SEA open qualifiers have come to an end. Execration has secured their spot in the regional qualifiers without dropping a single match.
The revamped team from the Philippines was shoved into the open qualifiers after making significant roster changes earlier in season, finalizing a roster as recently as this last week. After Djardel Jicko B. "DJ" Mampust left the team for Fnatic in March, three more players were changed out shortly after while the org tried to rebuild their squad. It wouldn't be until weeks later when the organization revealed they were bringing back on board former members Ryan "Bimbo" Jay Qui , Ralph Richard "RR" Peñano and added a newer face - James "CartMaN" Palatolon John to the mix.
The open qualifiers seemed to be a cake walk for the team that has barely had time to find their synergy and cohesion. Without dropping a single match, they cruised through the brutal best-of-one elimination phase and knocked out T.O.T and then Nasty Potatoes in two consecutive tidy sweeps.
The Filipino team is the first to advance to the regional qualifers scheduled to take place starting June 26th. The remaining teams have another shot at at the main qualifiers with the second round of open qualifiers getting ready to commence tomorrow. Three teams from the SEA regionals will advance to TI7 scheduled to take place at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington August 7-12th.

10 teams - Round Robin group, bo1
1st place qualify to TI 7
2nd to 5th place advance to phase two
Phase two:
4 teams - GSL bracket, bo3 series
Upper Bracket winners qualify to TI 7
Lower Bracket winners qualify to TI 7
