CDEC Gaming are the next victims of VISA issues – Dota Summit 7

CDEC Gaming will be replaced by LGD Gaming at the Dota Summit 7 due to VISA issues.

CDEC, who has not been doing exceptionally well in recent times, has surprised many when they managed to inch out a 3-2 victory over LGD in the finals of the Summit 7 China qualifiers. Unfortunately, they face the same problem that has been plaguing the Dota scene for awhile – being denied their VISA application to the United States.

Here is the translation of the post made by CDEC Gaming on their Weibo earlier today:

"After applying for the 2nd time, our players (Flyby and Shade) as well as our coach have failed their VISA application. Only June and Demons have their VISA approved previously while September's application is still pending. However, according to the Dota Summit 7 rules, teams can only play with a maximum of 1 substitute. As a result, we have no choice but to give up our chance to compete at the Summit 7. We will be replaced by LGD who were the runner-up of the China qualifiers. We would like to wish our brothers from LGD all the best and we hope that they will be able to obtain good results. Also, we have started making arrangements for our lawyers to communicate with Valve on the application of VISA for the players. However, this will take some time and we hope that the next time we get an opportunity to compete in an overseas LAN event, we will not be denied by VISA issues again."

With VISA issues becoming more and more prevalent in the Dota 2 scene, we cannot help but bring up this question again: "Should Valve intervene and help teams or players that are facing such issues?"

CDEC Gaming's lineup:

China Lin 'June' Shiyang'
China Xiao 'Demons' Cuoyi
China Su 'Flyby' Lei
China Xue 'September' Zhichuan
China Gao 'Shade' Zhenxiong

LGD Gaming's lineup:

China Lu 'Maybe' Yao
China Wang 'Ame-' Chunyu
China Yang 'eLeVeN' Wei Ren
China Chen '_Victoria' Guanhong
China Yao 'Yao' Zhengzheng

LGD will now be part of the 8 teams competing at the Beyond the Summit house in Los Angeles from June 14th - 18th for a total prize pool of US$100,000.
