The first day of the Kiev Major main event is also the last one for Digital Chaos, who have been eliminated in the round of 16.

In the third series of the day, Digital Chaos and Vici Gaming J battled each other over remaining in the tournament and the chance to win the grand prize of $1,000.000. The games were intense, but VG J managed to win and eliminate their opponents.

Game One:

As it was expected, DC opened up the draft with a Monkey King and a Warlock. VG.J answered with an Abaddon and a Venge. Both drafts were push and team-fight oriented, with very powerful heroes that could turn the fate of the game in any moment.

VG.J started the game confidently, taking three of the starting Bounty runes and trilaning on their safe lane where they secured the first blood very early. During the first 10 minutes of the game, both teams focused on getting farm and experience and mostly didn’t care about ganking and fighting. Immediately after this phase, however, DC decided that they had enough resources to start being aggressive and put pressure on the lanes. This resulted in two successive kills. Over the following minutes, Ember and Nature’s Prophet constantly pushed the lanes, getting a good gold advantage for themselves and making space for their Spectre. Minute 19 marked the first big fight around the Roshan pit. VG.J tried to get the Aegis for themselves, but DC managed to put a lot of pressure on them and actually land the last hit on Roshan. VG.J still got the Aegis though and killed two opponents.

Seeking revenge, DC regrouped and forced a fight out of which they emerged victorious and with a great net worth. After this hit, VG.J started to play a bit chaotically and lose hero after hero, giving DC an even greater advantage.

The situation changed however, around the 30 minute mark, when the Chinese team managed to gain a small advantage. They quickly made use of this advantage by pushing all the lanes. Confident in their strength, they decided to take a second Roshan and succeeded at it. In the meantime, Nature’s Prophet was split-pushing and dealing some damage to their bottom lane tier three tower. But he quickly had to retreat after VG.J killed Roshan and teleported back to base. At minute 35 DC managed to kill Medusa twice in a big fight. Spectre got a triple kill in this engagement and achieved an impressive net worth thanks to it, seeming indestructible.

The next 10 minutes passed silently, with both teams preferring to just farm, push the lanes and not take too much risk. Around minute 45 however, VG.J attacked DC’s base and managed to take their mid-Barracks. However, they lost their entire team in the process and the game dragged a bit longer. VG.J still managed to force out the "gg" after a beautiful triple kill from Liu ‘Freeze’ Chang, at the 52 minute mark.

Game Two:

DC wished to start the game aggressive, sending three heroes to contest the rune, but achieved nothing than losing HP. Mid lane, Lina managed to keep Invoker as far away from creeps as possible, managing just three last hits in the first three minutes, compared to Lina that already had 15 denies.

The first blood was spilled four minutes into the game, when the supports of both teams did rotations, managing a 1 for 1 trade. Around the 10th minute mark, Lifestealer was on top of the Net Worth, considering the fact that he had an easy lane. Both teams focused on farming, same as in game one, and less focus on ganking and team fights, managing to farm some core items. Having a level advantage, Radiant took full advantage over the Nyx--Invoker combo, spreading kills all over the map around the 11th-minute mark, forcing VG.J to consume more gold to buy sentry wards.

Around the 15th minute mark, VG.J managed to claim the first tower of the game and started pressuring lanes. During the next minutes, they managed to get a few pickoffs thanks to the Nyx-- Sun Strike combo.  As the clock hit the 19th-minute mark, DC engaged in a team fight, but the enemy team reacted instantly and with a perfect combination, managed to turn the fight in their favor, killing three heroes. Thus, the net worth around the 20th-minute mark was in Dire`s favor.

Having a Lina with a Bloodstone and -35s respawn time, and also having Centaur and Lifestealer on their guard, looked like any team fight was easily won by VG J.  First Roshan dropped around the 22-minute mark, the Aegis going to VG.J. The team suddenly had a huge advantage and started pressuring the lanes. Unfortunately for DC, DeMoN was caught many times off guard due to superior vision of VG J  and the Chinese team had no problem in keeping the map control untill the end of the game.

The advantage for the Chinese team is kept still until the end of the game when they tried a daring push, crushing the mid barracks and killing three enemy heroes. Wishing to force out a GG-call, the Chinese team regrouped bottom lane for a final decisive battle.

After two stunning and breath-taking matches, VG.J sent home the newly formed DC and secure themselves a chance to play in the Grand Finals.
