Virtus Pro will represent the CIS region at the Kiev Major

After a long road to the final, Natus Vincere (Navi) were not up to the task against Virtus Pro (VP) going down 2-0 in the CIS grand finals qualifier for the Kiev Major.

The CIS region qualifiers have wrapped up with all the excitement you would expect. The grand finals saw Na' Vi and VP face off after besting Team Empire and Team Spirit in the playoffs. Na'Vi had to beat Comanche in a tiebreaker to take that fourth spot after tying with them at the end of the Round Robin group stage.

Game One

VP banned out the Magnus which Navi utilised to take one of the only games of the qualifiers off VP with after they played off in the Semifinals.

The early game saw Victor "GeneRaL" Nigrini  playing Batrider go down for first blood to Roman 'RAMZES666' Kushnarev's Ursa, setting him up for a successful lane. After a few minutes the team score was 5-0 with three kills to RAMZES666. However, Na'Vi's Slark in the top lane was farming just as well. Ursa ended up taking an eight minute Roshan with the aid of a Helm of the Dominator, getting VP close to 10k gold lead at 12 minutes. At 14 minutes it was not looking good for the fan favourites, Na'Vi having lost four towers and down 0-9 on the kills score.

At 20 minutes a fight for the second Roshan broke out resulting in a five man wipe of the Na'Vi squad including a second life for GeneRaL on Bar Rider. The game ended at 26 minutes with a 22-3 game score – with half of those being scored by RAMZES666.

Game Two

Sadly for the Na'Vi fans game two got off to a similar start to game one, with Roman "rmN-" Paley giving away an early first blood. Things then went from bad to worse, with VP winning all three lanes holding the top three spots on the CS chart. At nine minutes the score was 9-2 and the gold lead was 6k to VP.

However, Na'Vi would not go down without a fight. A fight in the top lane saw the support Sven and Rubrik get taken out, and at 14 minutes Na'Vi traded a tier two tower bottom for claiming the Roshan. By 17 minutes VP had taken all of the tier one and tier two towers, and the game was yet to see a black hole. This changed soon after however, but not in the way Na'Vi might have wanted: a disastrous fight at the mid tier one of VP saw an ‘air ball’ black hole by GeneRaL, which was stolen byPaley Alexei "Solo" Berezin’s Rubrik resulting in a four man wipe. At 24 minutes, with Ilya "Lil" Ilyuk on the support Sven sitting above Danil "Dendi" Ishutin’s Ember Spirit n the net worth, it was clear that GG was not far away.

After pushing up mid lane and several skirmishes breaking out in Radiant base, a few taunts by RAMZES666 signalled the good game call.

Well played VP for a fantastic qualifying series only dropping two games on their way to Kiev.
