Three months after Newbee claimed victory over iG.V in the season 2 finals of DPL, an announcement for season 3 has come.
Dota Professional League (DPL) has had two excellent previous seasons, with Newbee claiming an incredible victory in the latest iteration of this. This time around, with Season 3 announced, we’ll see twelve of the best teams in China going head to head from as early as March 15th and running through to April 9th. Alongside this, 14 other teams will also meet each other in Dota 2 warfare in a “Class A” group from March 20th to April 20th.
DPL season 3 is set to take place just prior to the Kiev Major and is sure to bring out some fine Chinese Dota 2 teams and individual talent. As much as $86,800 will be on the line for Season 3, which will mean teams will be playing with an intent to win and no small amount of pressure. And with Newbee, the reigning champions, having recently received their direct invite to the Major, DPL is sure to be a great training ground just a few days before they head to Kiev.
Can Newbee retain their title and head forward on a high going to the Major? Just a few days stand between us and finding out.
