Vici Gaming cruise through the Kiev Major Chinese qualifiers unbeaten

The Kiev Major Chinese Regional Qualifiers started today, with Vici Gaming emerging as the undisputed top of the group.

The regional qualifiers for the Kiev Major follow a Best-of-One Round Robin format in the group stage, from where the top four teams of each region will make their way to the double elimination playoffs bracket. While SEA has already completed the initial stage of the qualifier and shall be moving on to the playoffs tomorrow, the Chinese regional qualifiers commenced with day one today and the teams still have a long journey ahead of them to battle it out for the two spots China has in the Kiev Major.

The Chinese Qualifiers were quite a spectacle for viewers today, as the battle between the teams was more intense than ever. However, when the dust settled, one  team came out without dropping even a single game - Vici Gaming. Vici Gaming, who had slowly battled their way through the Open Qualifiers of the Chinese region where they beat EHOME.Keen in the finals for a spot in the regionals, seem to have given the rest of the teams quite a run for their money, standing proudly at the top of the group at the end of the first day. Catching up to them is CDEC, who lost their matchup against Team Max.

Much to the surprise of spectators, Vici Gaming Potential seemed to have shown their true potential too by claiming the third place in the CN Qualifiers, above strong contenders like LGD and Invictus Gaming. The group also saw the qualifier winners for the Boston Major, iG.Vitality, upset their fans with a lacklustre performance, struggling to win only one out of the five games they played today.

While some would say that Vici Gaming have already secured a spot in the playoffs, tomorrow's competition seems to be tougher for them, as they would be facing off against the likes of CDEC and Vici Gaming Potential.

Chinese regional qualifiers in numbers:

Day One Games Played: 22
Longest game: 56 minutes Team Max vs iG Vitality
Shortest game: 24 minutes CDEC vs Young Elite
Most picked hero: Lifestealer (14 Games)
Most successful hero: Ember Spirit (88% Win Rate in 8 games)
