Bazaar.Youth Gaming managed to emerge victorious claiming a spot in the regionals after winning The Kiev Major second SEA open qualifier
Up to 850 teams took part in the second Kiev Major SEA open qualifier which was a long slog through Bo1 rounds featuring the likes of New Beggining lead by Wei 'Yamateh' Poong N and 'Miniski.X" lead by Chai 'Mushi' Yee. With titans of the scene trying to secure a regional presence, the event came to a stunning end with team Bazaar.Youth claiming the title after an unbelievable victory over White Fries Gaming.
With incredible Chronospheres from Bazaar.Y XiaNG's Void and perfectly timed disables from Bazaar.Y ChYuan's Invoker, Yamateh's new stack New Beginning very quickly became more of a 'fast ending', losing to the eventual champions 2-1 in the quarter finals 2-1. Given the strength of the top SEA teams, this victory by Bazaar.Youth in the qualifiers will surely boost their confidence and provide them with the motivation needed to be genuine contenders. Unfortunately we won't be seeing names such as Mushi, Yamateh, Hyhy in the Regionals, names that have long been stalwarts of the Dota scene in Southeast Asia.
Given that Mushi had only stepped in with Mineski-X after leaving Fanatic two month ago in the hopes of helping them reach the regionals, it was a shame but unsurprising to some extent that those hopes were shattered by White Fries Gaming led by Benedict “Hyhy" L.H not once, but twice in the two SEA regional qualifiers; the first time when they met during the round of 64, and the second time when they reached as far as the quarter final.
Both Bazaar teams may have won the battle now, but the war is in the Regionals which will be held starting on March 10. They have still alot to prove and road is still at its beginning.
