FACEIT to host the Open Qualifiers and the Champions Qualifier for the Kiev Major starting the 6th of March
Similar to previous Valve events and most notably the recent Boston Major, the Kiev Major's Open Qualifiers will be run by FACEIT for the SEA, America and European regions, and by Perfect World for China. However, the qualifiers will be different from previous tournaments considering that they will be region-locked but will also have separate brackets for players from the CIS and South American regions.
Both the Open Qualifiers will be following a format of BO1 Single Elimination with players starting from a round of 1024 in each region, and an exception of BO3 for the semi-finals and the finals. The South Americas qualifier will, however, have a BO3 Round-Of-16 and Round-Of-8 as semi-finals and finals would not be played out in the region.
Valve will also pioneer the Champions Qualifier for the Kiev Major, which shall esentially serve as an alternative route to the Major, exclusively for winners of the Tier 8 Champion's Cup from Europe, SEA and America.
Players wishing to sign up for the Open Qualifiers can do so with their own team of five players or as Solo players using FACEIT's Dota2 TeamFinder. Solo players will be able to join the tournament as soon as the check-in phase opens while teams that could not sign up on time will be able to register 30 minutes before the tournament starts, provided that slots are available.

The Kiev Major will be the first Valve event of 2017 and it will take place at the National Palace of Arts in Kiev, Ukraine from April 27th to 30th with a prize pool of $3,000,000.
