F.R.I.E.N.D.S claim victory at D2CL Season 10

Dota 2 Champions League began last week Tuesday, culminating yesterday in a final between F.R.I.E.N.D.S and Horde.

After making their way through the tournament with only one loss each, Horde and F.R.I.E.N.D.S met in the best-of-three final yesterday to crown the Dota 2 Champions League winner for season 10.

Game one saw F.R.I.E.N.D.S rip through Horde without problem as Ilya 'ALOHADANCE' Korobkin on Rubick made some amazing plays, whenever Horde looked to be attempting to turn the tides. With an unkillable dagon Tinker for Maxim 'yoky-' Kim and Danilo 'Bignum' Shehovstov on a Sven, Horde could not find their way into a commanding position and before thirty minutes had passed, game one was over.

Game two began a lot better for Horde, as they utilised their team composition perfectly in the early game to gain the advantage. Finding kills was definitely not a problem for them with Axel 'Pablo' Källman executing Sand King’s ultimate to near perfection each time - but the problem was found when they could no longer kill any of the opposition with this. A fight around the Roshan pit near the thirty minute mark would see yoky- picking up a Rampage on his Ember Spirit, as F.R.I.E.N.D.S team wiped Horde. A few minutes later, barraged in their own base, Horde had no choice but to throw in the towel and give F.R.I.E.N.D.S the victory.

With a 2-0 victory in the final, F.R.I.E.N.D.S took home first place and were crowned the season 10 champions of D2CL, claiming the first place prize of $2,500. Horde, placing an admirable 2nd place claimed $1,500 - while Effect and Feive eSports, in 3rd and 4th place, claimed $500 apiece.
