DAC 2017: Empire take down Effect to secure a ticket to China

Marking the end of the Qualifiers of the Dota 2 Asia Championships, Team Empire was able to 2-1 Effect in the CIS Qualifiers.

In an interesting finals of the CIS Qualifiers, Team Empire was able to convincingly take down Effect to be the sole representative of the CIS region at DAC. Looking strong through the entirety of the qualifiers, Team Empire first met Effect in the Upper Bracket Finals where they were able to easily move forward without dropping a single game. Effect were able to defeat Team Spirit in the Lower Bracket Finals, which led to a rematch in the Grand Finals but Team Empire were able to emerge as the better side yet again.

The games saw interesting picks coming out from both the sides, with Effect taking the first game on the back of a support-turned-carry Sven, and Team Empire taking the second game with a dominant performance from Rostislav 'fn' Lozovoi on his Magnus, and the third game with a cheesy Chaos Knight pick that was able to effectively trample the Effect side.

Team Empire will be the last hope for the CIS Region as they will face off against the top teams of the world in the main event of the $500,000 Dota 2 Asia Championships, being held in Shanghai, China from 28th of March to 4th of April. With all the qualifiers having ended, the stage is now set for the twelve directly invited and qualified teams.
