DAC 2017: Day Two of NA Qualifiers Results

At the end of day two of the North American qualifiers for DAC 2017, NP and Onyx had little problems, whereas DC stumbled against team WanteD.

With only one spot available for NA at the DAC 2017 LAN finals, competition was fierce in the first round of the qualifiers. A number of notable, and talented players, all who have been on tier one teams in the past, filled the pool and made for some great DOTA2 over the past few days.

The top two of each group advance further on to another double elimination bracket, where the winner advances on to the LAN Finals set to be held at the beginning of April, joining the likes of OG, EG, and Wings Gaming.

Group A

Group A saw Digital Chaos falter against Peter ‘PPD’ Pandam’s new team, WanteD, as they lost 2-1 in a hard fought bo3.  Despite being out of the competitive scene for some time, stepping into a managerial role in EG, it seems PPD hasn’t lost his touch and along with some strong players such as recent MVP.Phx departure Sun ‘QO’ Kim and, former compLexity Gaming member Rasmus ‘Chessie’ Blomdin, the WanteD team has shown that they are a force to be reckoned.

Meanwhile, compLexity Gaming had a relatively easy time against Team Freedom. In strong 2-0 in just under an hour, coL sent Team Freedom to the lower bracket, where they now face off against a bruised, and no doubt hungry Digital Chaos.

Group B

In group B, Team NP also had a strong showing against the Brazilian SG. Both games saw SG go relatively even in throughout, even showing some great aggression against NP in the early and middle stages. However, Team NP closed it out in textbook fashion as despite the aggression, NP found farm elsewhere, which continually put not just the networth, but the games in their favour.

In the second series of group B, Infamous almost gave the talented Team Onyx a run for their money as they started off strong in game one, but lost it due to a few blunders. Team Onyx rode their momentum in game two, and ran over the Peruvians who now face fellow South Americans SG, in the lower bracket semi-finals. Team Onyx move on to face the Canadians in the upper bracket finals for a possible spot in the final double elimination bracket.
