A new challenge comes with the Winter Battle Pass 2017

As we are used to, Valve released the new Battle Pass with a new challenge – Battle Cup.

After a resounding success and the popularity gained from the last two editions, Valve decided to continue the weekly competitions between the DotA 2 fans.

There will be eleven weeks in which you will have the chance to compete alone or with your team to earn as many points you can in order to receive a Golden Ticket for the Champions Cup and a shot to participate at The Kiev Major.

New in Winter Cup 2017

Six spots for the Kiev Major will be assigned to one team/region. In order to have a shot at this, you will have to receive a Golden Ticket.

Each player on the Battle Cup Champion team is awarded two new treasures and four levels on their Winter Battle Pass. Of course, you will also get the Champions Trophy and the fame.

Tickets for Winter Cup

A ticket to enter the Winter Cup costs 0.99$ but the Battle Pass owners receive a free one at level 1 and an extra one at level 29. Anyone can buy a ticket from the Steam Market!

Battle Cup schedule

Every Saturday starting from 28 February until 8 April.

The Champions Cup will be played on 15 April.

Golden Ticket

In order to receive the Golden Ticket, you will have to earn as many points as you can. Valve have not announced the Battle Cup Score needed to qualify just yet but they encouraged players to compete and win the tournament every week.

10 points - Join the fight

20 points - Win a match and advance out of the first round

40 points - Reach the finals

70 points - Win the tournament

Remember! If you compete at different tiers throughout the season, your Battle Cup score is tracked separately per tier.

Champions Cup

The Champions Cup is a special Battle Cup tournament held after the end of the regular season. Players earn the entry fee to this exclusive event, a Golden Ticket, by obtaining a sufficiently high enough Battle Cup Score in their tier.

A shot at the Kiev Major

In addition to the established route through Open Qualifiers, the Champions Cup offers a new way for any player to compete at the Kiev Major. One slot from each Regional Qualifier will be filled by a team of tier-8 Champions Cup winners from the Battle Cup season.
