Late last year we announced that Day[9] would be teaming up with Purge to create a video series delving into some of the basics of DotA 2, and now that time has come.
Sean ‘Day[9]’ Plott is fairly well known and respected in the Starcraft community having played since Brood War and then moving on to a commentary role later in the Starcraft II era. While he has his own show, where he casts and analyses high tier Starcraft plays, Day[9] made it quite clear last year that he was looking to move into the DotA 2 scene. After consuming every video that Purge had to offer on his YouTube channel, the two decided that they would embark on a mission to help those who aren’t too familiar with DotA, its mechanics and how everything works. While the series is sure to be perfect for someone fairly new to the game, anyone can gain some valuable insight and learn something new.
Day[9] stated that the series will not look to focus on any specific heroes or their builds, but rather on a far more general understanding of the game – especially since patches like 7.0 did change the game in such a wild manner. According to his Reddit post, the streams/videos will focus on aspects of the game such as rotation timings, introductions to each role, farming and much, much more.
