[UPDATE] Escape Gaming bids farewell to their Dota 2 team

Escape Gaming announced a temporary disbanding of their current Dota 2 roster, making clear that they will miss the Spring Shuffle roster lock.

With the departure of Maurice 'KheZu' Gutmann to Team Secret and the recent loss of Yazied 'YapzOr' Jaradat to FATA's new project B)ears, Escape Gaming decided not to renew the contracts of the remaining three players.

According to the official announcement made on the Escape Gaming website, the new team will be announced on the 25th of January and will still feature the current remaining players at Escape: SyndereN, Era, and Qojqva. Clearly missing the Spring Shuffle deadline of January 9, the goal for Escape Gaming remains the Kiev Major. Except now they will have to embrace the open qualifiers path.

Today we see the departure of our DotA2 squad as they will not be signing a new contract for 2017, instead there will be a new and exciting announcement on 25th January. With the next roster lock coming up SyndereN, Era and Qojqva will be making two new additions to the lineup for the next Major. - extract from Escape Gaming’s official announcement

- [UPDATE] -

The vague and rather confusing announcement made by the organization yesterday proved to actually be a true disbandment of the Dota 2 team. SyndereN, Era, and qojqva will continue to play together but not under the Escape Gaming banner as we initially understood from their announcement. The “exciting announcement on 25th January” was referring to the new team formed for the upcoming Spring Major. The team name is actually 25th January, not a date when we should expect the Escape announcement of the new roster.

With all these detailed being cleared up last night, the three ex-Escape Gaming guys are joined by Kai 'H4nn1' Hanbückers and Kalle 'Trixi' Saarinen, both former colleagues of Era at Fantic back in the days of The International 3. Lately H4nn1 is more known for his apparitions as analyst at various events, his last competitive performance being recorded in early 2015 with 4Clovers & Lepricon. H4nn1 announced his retirement from the competitive Dota in May 2015, but now he is making a comeback.

Trixi on the other hand never went into a full retirement and preferred to stay active playing for various Nordic teams. In the last couple of weeks he has been standing in for Escape Gaming and participated with them at DreamLeague Season 6

25th January roster:

Sweden Adrian 'Era' Kryeziu
Germany Max 'qojqva' Bröcker
Germany Kai 'H4nn1' Hanbückers
Finland  Kalle 'Trixi' Saarinen
Denmark Troels 'syndereN' Nielsen
