A huge upset in group A delivered by WG Unity denied Wings first place and paved a clear path to the top for Digital Chaos.
Yesterday, Group A and group B kicked off the GSL group stage and decided their leaders after some of the most spectacular matches of the season so far. Seeded in the same group, The International 6 champions and runners up, Wings Gaming and Digital Chaos, managed to avoid each other after Warriors Gaming Unity opened the day with an incredible upset. Their 2-1 victory over Wings changed the expected course of the group and created a clear path for Digital Chaos to claim first place in group A.
No clear stomps happened during the first day in group A, and despite there being a few 2-0 victories, they were misleading as all the teams fought hard, revealing some of their new strategies in the process. From a support/roaming Magnus played by Rasmus 'MiSeRy' Filipsen to Xie 'Super' Junhao’s mid Sniper, we also got to see old signature heroes that were ignored or forgotten in the past couple of months, like Aliwi 'w33' Omar’s Windranger.
Undoubtedly, a must watch game from group A is game three of WG.Unity vs Wings Gaming, but if you have time for more than just a game, then the entire series is worth watching.

The first place finish for Digital Chaos means that they will be randomly seeded in the main event against the fourth place finishers from another group. The Boston Major main event is set to kick off on the 7th of December at the Wang Theater in Boston, Massachusetts with a single elimination bracket format.
Until then, the group stage will resume today, December 4th, at 10:00 EST/ 16:00 CET with group C and D.
