The CIS shuffle continues with Vega Squadron

Vega Squadron CEO Alexey Kondakov announced via a blog post made earlier today that his team will suffer important roster changes in the near future.

The blog post made by Alexey Kondakov on the Vega Squadron official website is rather lengthy, it but unveils a lot of the issues the CIS scene is confronting for a while now and sends the readers to the root of the problem. Owner of Vega Squadron organization and a very close friend to his players, Alexey Kondakov talks about the lack of discipline and respect that governs most of the CIS professional teams and their players. He also points at the impossibility of implementing the Chinese model of secondary rosters in order to grow future star players.

The first option for the 2016 Fall Season roster of Vega Squadron was a lineup that would have gave chance to a few CIS youngsters to prove themselves. Alexey Kondakov explains how, unfortunately, the organization was not ready to take a “gamble” and preferred to go with experienced players. The only raw talent they trusted was Bogdan 'Iceberg' Vasilenko, who already proved that “he's hard-working and is always working for the victory” during his stay at Team Spirit.

There are difficulties with finding new players in CIS. It's a huge risk, first of all. You should take a player with no experience and you never know if he'll fit in the team. The season was about to start and we had no time to try it out. I believe you need 2nd and 3rd rosters for such cases. But no one is doing it in CIS while the talented players are there, waiting for a chance. There are no schools or organizations that would help players get to the pro-scene, this is why it only can be done via "academy" rosters. We are planning to make it happen, when we find funds for that. It's all about money, unfortunately.

Fragmented with two videos, one focused on Iceberg and one on the training and team building program for the new Vega Roster, the blog post also speaks about the players ethics and the problems that the new roster went through. Without giving names, the Vega Squadron CEO says:

If someone from the team doesn't pay much attention to the practice, the performance will definitely go down. We had such moments as well. […] We decided that players that are not ready to work on themselves are not welcome in our team.

Without giving a deadline for the new roster announcement, Alexey Kondakov says that two players will be replaced, and he ends his blog post talking about the managerial team's efforts aimed at building something to last and apologizes to the fans for letting them down when it mattered the most.
