In a complete reversal of the open qualifiers, the Americas closed qualifiers group stage ended without a European team making it to the playoffs.
The group stage of the Americas qualifiers for the Boston Major ended cleanly today, without a need for tie-breakers to decide the top four who will be playing in the double elimination playoffs.
The playoffs will be starting later today at 19:00 CEST, with a best-of-three series between Team NP and Infamous, followed by compLexity Gaming vs FDL at 22:30 CEST and the lower bracket elimination match at 03:00 CEST. Those who survive the first playoff day will be one victory away from achieving the top two result required for qualification into the Boston Major LAN event.
Three of the top four finishers at the end of day one stayed there when the group stage concluded on day two. Wild Witch Doctors found themselves out of the top four after Infamous came back from a not so ideal day one win-loss score of 1-3, which they fixed by winning all three of their day two matches. In addition to Infamous, Team NP also played well the second day, winning all four of their matches to finish top in the group.
