The stacked first round of European open qualifiers for Boston Major ended early in the morning with Fantastic Five reigning supreme over the nearly 800 squads registered.
Four CIS teams made it in the semifinals last night; Flipsid3 Tactics, FRIENDS, Team Empire and Fantastic Five. F3 made an impressive run to reach the finals, taking down The Imperial and FRIENDS on their journey while F5 stopped Team Empire from advancing into the finals.
After they drafted Warlock in all the three games held against Team Empire, Fantastic Five banned the hero themselves three times in the finals against Flipsid3 and went with pushing line-ups developed around Luna in the first and the third game of the series. Luna sustained by Omniknight’s an Witch Doctor’s heals in game one and Luna-Shadow Demon illusion strategy in game three brought F5 the EU regional qualifiers spot after a series that finished in the early morning hours in Europe.
The second round of European qualifiers will commence today, October 25 at 16:00 CEST. For those interested to register, there is still time, the check in being done at 14:00 CEST. Europe open qualifiers #2 registrations can be done here.
Despite their tweet, and despite Prodota Gaming winning the US open qualifiers #1, Team Empire already registered to the EU bracket. Along with them, Flipsid3 Tactics, FRIENDS, The Imperial, Kaipi, Power Rangers and many more will start over today in hopes of grabbing the last spot into the regional qualifiers.
The regional qualifiers will kick off on the 27th of October with ten teams fighting for the two spots available for the EU region in the Boston Major main event.
